About a Boy

So there are two things that this post could be about, right? Either the movie with Hugh Grant (really good by the way.. in of course the cheesiest of ways) OR, about a boy. A boy who I've been dreaming about, wishing for, and hoping that someday somehow he will realize that I'm the one for him and that we are meant to be together. Well, it COULD be about those things. But that would be too obvious.

So, the post "About a Boy" is actually about a band called "Boy":)

I went to go see this "Band" (really it's a duo of two girls with an amazing back-up band) at Webster Hall last week. I had heard one of their songs months before, after finding myself in an internet rabbit hole and really liked it (and them). (you know how THAT goes! Wait how did I get here? I don't need new patio furniture...I don't even have a patio!)

They are based out of Hamburg, Germany and the lead singer is adorably gorgeous. If that makes any sense. It does when you see her. She's instantly captivating and I'd challenge anyone not to fall in love with her;)

The melodies are catchy, the performance heartfelt, and the music upbeat, head-boppable, dance-tastic. I witnessed their dreams come true that night. Their last song before the encore "Little Numbers" is the song I first discovered a couple months ago.

But apparently everyone else first discovered that song because the crowd was singing along. And the duo was beaming- almost unable to sing themselves because they were so happy and astounded to hear the New York (i.e. foreign) crowd sing the lyrics.

It was a magical moment. One that also made me beam with joy to imagine what they were feeling. To witness their dreams coming true. It was beautiful. The moments I live for (cue violins and golden sunlight).

(I even bought a CD. That tells you how impressed I was-no one buys CDs anymore.)

So here is the song/video of little numbers-the gateway song to your newfound obsession. Or mine anyway:) I challenge you not to fall in love.

And I double challenge you not to dance! Turn it up really loud!:)

All my boy love, Dana

I'm waiting for the call and for the moon (move?) To release me from the longest afternoon I've rearranged parts of my living room Time is hard to kill since I met you

Looking at the cars that drive on by While spring is making promises outside (LOVE this line!!!) The red cars are quite red I realize And then I wonder which color you'd like

Seven little numbers baby they could be a start Seven little numbers baby I know yours by heart.

Woah-all the pretty things that we could be Woah-I feel you in every heart beat Woah-revel in a dream that could come true these numbers could be lucky for you

(The second verse has my favorite lyrics-so true...so relatable:)

I watch the sky change to a darker blue I can't think of another thing to do Every song just makes me think of you Because the singer sounds as if she was longing, as if she was longing too

Seven little numbers baby they could be a start Seven little numbers baby I know yours by heart. Seven little numbers baby they could make a change Seven little numbers make a fire out of this flame

Woah-all the pretty things that we could be Woah-I feel you in every heart beat Woah-revel in a dream that could come true these numbers could be lucky for you

I read your name on every wall on every wall tell me Is there a cure for me at all for me at all, tell me

Woah-all the pretty things that we could be Woah-I feel you in every heart beat Woah-revel in a dream that could come true these numbers could be lucky for you
