In keeping with the topic of a previous blog entry, where I compared two versions of the same song, today I want to talk about another way you can have two versions of the same song. Namely, a cover.

I myself have been known to do a cover or two like here and here, and I have many more on my wish list. It's so cool and not to mention fun to take a song that somebody else wrote and put your own spin on it. (Not to be confused with a re-mix.)

It's also a great way to find out more about your own writing style.

I've been going through so many changes at Dana Carmel .com (and in life) and I feel like I finally got one that I really like. I want to invite you to look around, and to tell me what you think.

Of course as most things, it is a work in progress but as I often talk about, I am a big proponent of taking imperfect action rather than waiting for it to be perfect. It is something I am constantly practicing.

So I'm sort of at a loss with what to write. I've been go-go going for quite a while. I've been recording songs from Song in Your Box. I've been co-writing with my friend Valerie (we have a great song that's 90% finished) AND I've been working on my project with my writing partner, Tim. All in all, it's a lot.
