Hey there,
This is the part where if we were on a first date and the check came, it'd be that awkward moment when I'd reach for my wallet to offer to pay even though you invited me to dinner, and we'd go back and forth between splitting the bill or you taking care of it and ultimately I'd acquiesce and put my card away... but I wouldn't want you to think I was there just for the free meal or that you'd have to pay for me on every date we go on.
Yeah, that's happening now.
Because here's the thing- whereas I LOVE helping you with tools to write better songs, and inspiring you to be more creative and more, well, YOU, and I LOVE sharing my creativity and my songs with you, this is in fact a business.
In total transparency, this is how I am able to support myself to continue to create this content, and to continue to inspire you to make your mark on the world through YOUR creativity and through your self-expression.
There is of course, no pressure. But if you find yourself getting value from what I put out there, I happily offer these things for you to purchase. And of course if you want to support me just because, I will happily accept that as well;)
Because here's the (other) thing- unfortunately there is a HOT MESS going on now with songwriters getting paid for their work. Streaming services are basically using songs for free. Copyright laws say that your songs are yours for 30 years, and then they go public! Meaning, if you write a hit song that rakes in loads of money, after 30 years, they go public and your kids and grandkids won't see a dime. Crazy right?
I'd like to take a minute here to honor the power of music.
Without music (and by music I mean songwriters) there'd be no dancing.
Without your favorite break-up song, you'd be crying in silence (except for your sobbing). Your road trips would be BOOOOORRRIIINNNGGGG!!!
My favorite movie would look like this:
Music is the substance of life. Music brings people together. Without music, it'd be oh so silent;)
If you want songwriters to continue to make their music, let's show them how much what they do means to us.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read all the way through.
So much love from the bottom of my heart,
Dana

One-on-one Sessions
I am so thrilled to offer you one-on-one time to help you with your craft of songwriting, and to expand your music theory skills. I also teach guitar and voice so take your pick:)
Together we can work on blocks to help you feel more inspired, to learn music theory rules (so you can break them of course) and to write consciously and skillfully.
We can also tackle business questions as well. The world is your music box!
